Preparing to major in Horticulture at OSU
If you are attending or planning to attend a community college before coming to OSU, take transferable courses in general chemistry, biology, mathematics, and writing. Make sure that the courses you take meet the degree requirements of our department. Some of Oregon’s community colleges offer excellent horticulture courses. Some of these are equivalent to our courses and meet our degree requirements and others do not.
To find out how your community college classes will transfer to OSU, look them up in the OSU Articulation Tables
Also, look at what is required for the OSU Baccalaureate Core
You might also want to consider enrolling in the Degree Partnership Program. This allows students at certain community colleges to be enrolled at OSU and the community college simultaneously. Oftentimes, this is a great way to transition to OSU.
