Minor Curriculum

Minors Offered By the Department of Horticulture

To officially obtain a minor:

  • Before you begin taking courses, contact the Horticulture Advisor
  • Complete a minimum of 27 hours of approved coursework
  • Courses required in major may not count toward minor 
  • Individual courses may not count toward more than one minor 
  • Receive a grade of C- or better in all Horticulture courses take to complete minor
  • Make formal application for completion of requirements

There are 2 minors offered by the Department of Horticulture:

General Horticulture

Hort 111. Intro to Horticultural Crops 2 credits
Hort 301. Principles of Horticultural Technology 4 credits
Hort 302. Principles of Horticultural Technology 4 credits


Plus 17 additional credits in Horticulture, including at least 6 upper division credits. 
Course selection must be approved by the Horticulture Academic Advisor.
Total=27 credits

Turf and Landscape Management Minor

CSS 305. Principles of Soil Science 4 credits
CSS 306. Problem Solving: Soil Science Applications 1 credit
