Cover drawing: Redstem filaree (Erodium cicutarium). Annual, germinating in autumn and flowering from spring until autumn. Leaves pinnately compound compared to Crane's bill (Geranium spp) which have palmately lobed leaves. Difficult to kill with glyphosate in spring. Ref: E. Haflinger and J. Brun-Hool 1974.
