Viticulture Workshops

Winter 2010: Vineyard Production Principles (ONLINE)

Lectures for the viticulture courses in the OSU Viticulture & Enology BS program have been available to the winegrape industry and the public since 2008. These courses cover grapevine physiology and how it relates to practices in the vineyard. Taken by upper division and graduate students at Oregon State University, these courses can be helpful for continuing education of current members of the wine industry or for those new to vineyard/wine production. For beginners, these courses will introduce you to the importance of understanding vine physiology for making informed management decisions in the future.

The online Extension course in viticulture will be offered online to industry/public from January – March 2010. Course content will cover the how and why of vineyard management practices, focusing on the production and physiology behind the practices. Students are encouraged to think critically about practices and make informed decisions based on vine physiology and management research.
