There have been many changes in application techniques in recent years. Course participants will enhance their knowledge in the following areas:
- Sprayer design and function
- Effective adjustments to sprayers
- Better placement of the spray on-target
- Sprayer calibration
- Nozzle selection for correct droplet size
- Modifying airflow and speed to keep the spray in the canopy
- Sprayer preparation
- Winter storage decontamination
- Monitor spray deposition with cards and tracer dyes
This innovative course is unique, providing an intensive instruction including hands-on demonstration in the field. The course is designed for sprayer operators to enable them to get the most from their machine. Space is limited to allow for maximized interaction and better demonstration of various techniques.

Dr. Andrew Landers is the application technology specialist based at Cornell University, NYSAES, Geneva, NY and is author of the newly released book, Effective Vineyard Spraying.
